Day 14 and 15--Washington D.C.

Tons of pictures today because we covered A LOT of ground these last 2 days.  We have been the ultimate tourists and the kids have done a good job of keeping up.  They've needed plenty of stamina since we've visited all of these places since arriving in D.C.

Mt. Vernon
Air and Space Museum
The Capitol
Washington Monument
The White House
World War II Memorial
Vietnam War Memorial
Lincoln Memorial
Korea War Memorial
American History Museum
The National Archives
Drive to Baltimore for an Orioles game
Ford's Theatre
Museum of Natural History
Nationals Park for a Nationals game

Phew!  I'm exhausted after just reading the list again.  Here's some pictures and thoughts about these fun, full last 2 days in D.C..

We've been doing all kinds of rankings on this trip.  Favorite day.  Favorite museum.  etc....

So, our favorite parts of the last 4 days in D.C. were pretty easy.  Mount Vernon was the clear winner.  Washington Monument was next and surprisingly, the National Archives was third.  I was surprised by that, but the kids (and the parents) thought it was cool to see the real Declaration of Independence and Constitution.  However, you're not allowed to take any pictures inside of the Archives so there's not much to remember it by.

The baseball games gave us fans a chance to rank our favorite stadiums of the 4 we've visited so far.  Our rankings:
1. Busch Stadium (definitely Cade's favorite)
2. Camden Yards
3. Kauffman Stadium (We were all surprised at how much we liked this park)
4. Nationals Stadium (Bryce had this higher on the list, but there wasn't much memorable about it.  It was nice, new, and good looking, but nothing that gave it any charm)

Tomorrow we head to Charlottesville, VA to spend a few days with great friends from our UNM coaching days.  We can't wait to see the McKay's, the Soucie's, and the Farmer's.
